Dr. Ranjit Bhelke: The Heart Behind Every Kinetic EV

This month, we celebrate Dr. Ranjit Bhelke, whose journey at Kinetic reflects dedication, technical excellence, and a vision for creating the future of mobility. Having been associated with the Kinetic Group for the past three years, Dr. Bhelke’s journey has been one of continuous growth.

He initially joined as the CEO of Kinetic Communication in the GB Division and, over time, took on larger responsibilities across the Group. Last year, he was appointed Vice President of the Kinetic Group, where he now leads multiple strategic initiatives, including Range-X, MAIPL, real estate investments, and financial business development for Kinetic Engineering Ltd.

One of his most significant responsibilities is leading Range-X, Kinetic’s battery technology company. Established in Ahilyanagar, Range-X has evolved into a complete ecosystem with its own research and development, procurement, and manufacturing capabilities. The organization is responsible for designing, manufacturing, and supplying advanced battery packs for Kinetic Watts & Volts while steadily expanding its reach beyond the Group. “Our vision is not just to support Kinetic’s electric mobility ambitions, but to build Range-X into an independent, self-sustaining organization,” says Dr. Bhelke. “While we continue to serve Kinetic Watts & Volts, we are also developing solutions for external two-wheeler and three-wheeler manufacturers.”

For Dr. Bhelke, batteries are much more than just another vehicle component. “The battery is the heart of an electric vehicle. It is one of the most critical and highest-value components. Even a single issue can impact the entire vehicle’s performance, making reliability and quality absolutely essential.” Battery technology was a completely new domain for Kinetic, bringing with it significant technical complexities. Building in-house capabilities, acquiring technology, and establishing a robust manufacturing ecosystem required tremendous effort. Today, those foundations are enabling Kinetic to confidently move toward the future of electric mobility.

Beyond technology and leadership, Dr. Bhelke’s journey with Kinetic has a deeply personal connection. His first ride was the iconic Luna, which faithfully accompanied him throughout his college days. Later came the legendary Kinetic DX, a scooter he admired for its unique styling and modern appeal, becoming his dream vehicle during his youth. Interestingly, during campus placements, Kinetic visited his college. Although he wasn’t selected at the time, destiny had other plans. Years later, he found himself becoming an integral part of the very organization he had once hoped to join.

Throughout his career, Dr. Bhelke has had the privilege of working closely with Padma Shri Dr. Arun Firodia, an experience he describes as invaluable. “Working with Chairman Dr. Arun Firodia has taught me far more than technical expertise. I’ve learned how to think differently, make balanced decisions, remain calm under pressure, and approach every challenge with clarity.”

Today, working with Vice Chairman & Managing Director Mr. AjinkyaFirodia offers him a completely different yet equally enriching perspective. “Mr. Ajinkya Firodia’s leadership style is dynamic and future-focused.
