From Pune To The World: Kinetic EV Looks Beyond India
The next road for Kinetic EV is not limited to India. What started as a new chapter in electric mobility is now opening up to a much larger map. Kinetic Watts & Volts (KWV), the electric mobility arm of the Kinetic Group, is evaluating international markets as it looks to take its electric two-wheeler proposition beyond India.
The company is currently assessing seven markets across Europe, South Asia and Africa: Turkey, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Kenya, Nigeria and Egypt. The approach is deliberate: understanding each market, its regulatory environment, customer requirements, EV ecosystem and potential distribution partnerships before making the move.
For Kinetic, going global is not about simply entering new countries. It is about taking an Indian-built mobility proposition and understanding how it can fit into different roads, cities and everyday lives. The timing comes as Kinetic EV continues to strengthen its presence at home. The company currently has 65 exclusive showrooms operational across India, with another 40 outlets expected to become operational over the next two months. It has also issued 150 Letters of Intent to prospective exclusive dealership partners, creating a growing network for the brand as it scales its domestic operations.
To build the international business, Kinetic Watts & Volts has brought in Makarand Joshi to lead international business development. With more than two decades of experience in developing overseas markets for Indian automotive products across Asia, the Middle East, Europe and Africa, Joshi will focus on identifying markets, building partnerships and developing distribution networks.
For Vice Chairman and Managing Director Ajinkya Firodia, the opportunity is clear: Kinetic’s products are “Built in India for the world.” The focus now is on finding the right markets, the right partners and the right path to take that proposition forward.
For a brand that has been part of India’s mobility story for decades, this is another chapter in the journey, one that begins at home but looks far beyond it.
The legend is moving forward. And this time, the road is global.
