Range-X Rolls Out: Powering India’s EV Future
Kinetic Engineering Begins In-House Battery Production
Kinetic Engineering has achieved a major milestone in its electric mobility journey with the start of production at Range-X, the company’s in-house battery manufacturing division.
Earlier this month, the first Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery was successfully produced at our fully automated Ahilyanagar facility, marking a proud moment for the entire Kinetic family.
Building Indigenous EV Capability
Range-X represents more than just a manufacturing achievement—it is the cornerstone of our EV vision and a decisive step toward building indigenous capability in core EV technology.
As demand for safe, long-lasting, and high-performance batteries grows across India, our AIS 156-certified Range-X batteries are engineered, manufactured, and tested entirely in India.
Smart, Safe, and Sustainable Battery Technology
The new LFP batteries offer 2,000 to 3,000 charge cycles and include a smart Battery Management System (BMS) for improved efficiency.
They also provide superior thermal stability, ensuring reliable performance across diverse Indian weather conditions.
With their robust design and sustainable engineering, Range-X batteries are built to meet the growing needs of India’s evolving EV landscape.
A Vision Led by Innovation
Reflecting on this milestone, Ajinkya Firodia, Vice Chairman of Kinetic Engineering, shared that the first batteries from Range-X form the backbone of the Kinetic DX and the next phase of clean mobility in India.
With AIS 156 certification, Range-X delivers the ideal combination of safety, durability, and sustainability.
The Ahilyanagar plant stands as a model of modern manufacturing, equipped with an IoT-enabled assembly line, POKE-YOKE error-proofing, and stage-wise inspections that ensure consistency, scalability, and reduced import dependency.
Powering the New Kinetic DX and Beyond
The maiden Range-X battery now powers the Kinetic DX electric scooter, reviving the iconic DX nameplate with a bold new electric identity.
With in-house battery production now operational, Kinetic has gained stronger control over a critical EV component, reinforcing customer trust and product reliability.
Driving the Future of Electric Mobility
Range-X batteries will soon power a wider lineup of two- and three-wheeler EVs across Kinetic’s portfolio.
This rollout marks not only the beginning of large-scale battery production but also a defining moment in Kinetic’s contribution to India’s electric future.
